KILWINNING RANGERS 1
IRVINE MEADOW 2
By Stewart McConnell
FORM team Meadow completed a second win of the season against Buffs in what will be the final derby at Abbey Park between the sides after the move was agreed to Kilwinning Sports Club.
The visitors got off to the perfect start by taking the lead in four minutes after Jared Willet sent home a great diving header from a Reece Pearson cross. Meadow then doubled their advantage before the break when skipper Ben Carson and Colin Spence combined to set up Brendan Sharpe to slot home.
The hosts almost made it 3-0 but Adam Strain made a great save to foil Willet from close range.
On-form home striker Brendan Sharpe was then replaced by Aaron Connolly.
In 75 minutes, Buffs bagged a consolation when Carlo Monti sent home a 25-yard free-kick. But it was too little, too late as Meadow held on for victory.
KILWINNING RANGERS: Strain; Coleman, McCloskey, Maitland, Syme, Fleming, Monti, Lewis, Boylan, Wardrope, Curragh.
IRVINE MEADOW: Newman; Latta, Carnwath, Miller, Gow, Devlin, Pearson, Spence, Sharpe, Carson, Willet.
