BUFFS blew an early lead as they went down to title-chasing ‘Ford at Abbey Park.

But they could count themselves very unlucky to leave without a point after a flurry of second half pressure.

The home side got off to the perfect start as they took the lead in five minutes, Garry Fleming slamming a shot beyond Ally Brown in the visiting goal.

Just two minutes later the home side levelled through Ayr United on-loan player James Hilton. In 15 minutes the visitors went ahead as Lewis Morrison cut in from the left and fired past Hogarth.

Just five minutes later a 20-yard strike from Morrison glanced just wide.

The hosts came so close in 27 minutes, when following good work by Carlo Monti, a Mark Curragh shot was cleared off the line.

On the half hour a Monti strike was easily held by Brown. Five minutes later a Marc McKenzie strike blocked by the feet of Hogarth.

The in 49 minutes Craig Pettigrew rifled in a shot which went inches over the bar.

The pressure continued and five minutes later, a Ryan Nisbet shot was cleared off the line by the head of Chris Robertson. On the hour a Nisbet shot from the edge of the box went over bar.

Then in 70 minutes, David Syme sent a header over the bar

Ten minutes from time Nisbet made a mazy run and saw his shot deflected past for a corner. Three minutes later there was a great chance for Buffs when Curragh teed up Fleming but his effort went well wide.
