A MOUNTING injury crisis is facing Beith Juniors in their quest to end the season with some silverware.

Ryan Docherty (facial injury) Paul Frize (arm) and Peter Haggarty (knee) were all injured in Saturday’s game with Pollok.

Nicky Docherty, Joe Bradley and Kenny McLean also missed out with knocks.

Now manager Johnny Millar is hoping he will have some players back for the Ardagh Group West of Scotland Cup final against Kirkintilloch Rob Roy on Saturday, June 8.

Millar said: “We are down to the bare bones. There are just a couple of league games to go and hopefully we can bring in some under-21 players to the squad for these matches. I will have to wrap the guys in cotton wool as I want to have more people for the West final.

“That is by far the biggest game for the season for us. We have won the Scottish Junior Cup and Premier Division in the last couple of years and now want to win the West again.

“It’s the second top cup competition in the junior game.

“But it will be really tough as Rob Roy beat Hurlford United last week and they defeated Auchinleck Talbot in the semi-final of the West of Scotland Cup.”

Meanwhile Ardrossan Winton Rovers are looking to bring in some new faces.

Boss Stevie Wilson said: “We have signed about half the squad from this season and also have some targets we are looking at.”
