ARDROSSAN WINTON ROVERS 1

DALRY THISTLE 1 (Dalry won 3-1 on penalties)

WINTON made changes following Friday night’s heavy defeat at Beith while Thistle included former Winton players Conor Browning and Dylan Stevenston in their team.

Dalry Thistle had former Irvine Vics striker Kevin Adam in their ranks.

The first 15 minutes were fairly even with both sides creating chances.

Rovers started the second half on the front foot and Ryan McKie had the first of several good chances to open the scoring in 47 minutes although Dalry were dangerous going forward and in 50 minutes Kieran Oliver cut into the box but Winton goalie Blair Lochhead made a great save to deny him.

Winton took the lead when Ian Cashmore scored from close range for his first competitive goal since returning to the club.

The visitors equalised in 76 minutes when the ball was played into the box and Kevin Adam turned and shoot home from about 15 yards to make it 1-1. Rovers finished the game with 10 men when Jordan Bruce was red- carded during time added on.

It was then on to penalties to decide who would win the bonus point. Martyn Brown, Ian Cashmore and Sean Mears scored for Winton while Adam scored for Dalry.
