TEEN sensation Billy Gilmour earned huge praise from Chelsea boss Frank Lampard and was a terracing idol at Stamford Bridge after making his first start last night.
The 18-year-oid had the crowd drooling after his every move as he starred in the 7-1 hammering of Grimsby Town in the Caraboa Cup.
Former Rangers starlet Gilmour totally bossed the game in midfield - finishing the match with a passing accuracy of 93 per cent as his team cantered to victory.
Among those impressed by him was Monaco midfielder Cesc Fabregas, who said that the 18-year-old was a class above at Stamford Bridge.
He said: "He played amazing tonight. Personality is the most important at this age and he’s got it all right. Now time to keep learning and taking advantage of these games to prove the coach he’s good enough."
Gilmour added: "The training starts at 9 every morning but I get to the training ground at 8. I spend one hour watching videos of Fabregas, how he moves without the ball, how he pass the ball, how he picks his teammates. He's my favorite" - Billy Gilmour
Lampard was equally impressed with Gilmour's performance in his first-ever start at senior level, stating: "I thought Billy Gilmour ran the game from midfield."
