CAMBUSLANG RANGERS 1

DALRY THISTLE 3

FOR the last game as a 99-year-old club, Dalry were on their travels to Somervell Park for a clash against  a bottom three-placed Lang side.

The first half was made up of lots of endeavour but with no real chances being created by either side on a surface which was heavy and bobbly with the recent heavy rain.

All credit must go to  Cambuslang though for getting the game on though as Dalry had gone four games  without a fixture.

Dalry came out of the traps in the second half by scoring two minutes in.  A long inswinging free-kick was met with a deft flicked header by Kevin Adam to loop over the stranded keeper and into  the  top right corner.

Within 15 minues, Dalry had made it 2-0.  A ball was played into the box towards Marc Curragh, who with his back to goal about 8 yards out adjusted his body to overhead/hook the ball in at the goalie's right hand side.

Eleven mins later, Dalry made it 3-0 with a third quality goal. A lovely pass through left Kieren Oliver to run through from halfway and place a composed finish low to the keeper's right again.  Very cool finish as he had lots of time to change his mind but picked the right option.

Cambuslang responded almost straight away  a finish from close range.  Thereafter Thistle weathered a small period from the Lang with relative ease whilst offering a threat themselves  to extending the lead further.

Ultimately it was a great three points which ends the year well and it's onto the Centenary year with a home game against Kilsyth Rangers at Merksworth up next on Saturday for Gavin Friels' Dalry team
