Beith’s Jemma Reekie continued her impressive form since lockdown as she won the 1500m at the World Athletics Continental Tour Bronze meeting in Bydgoszcz, Poland.
The 22-year-old clocked a 4:09.01 after comfortably holding the inside line behind the pacemaker for much of the race before powering on in the final stages to claim victory by more than two seconds over Germany’s Caterina Granz.
The double European under-23 champion tweeted after the race “nice win tonight”.
Last week Reekie was in action at the Monaco Diamond League meeting where she finished fourth in the 1000m while she set a new outdoor personal best in the 800m in Triveneto, Italy, at the start of August as she beat her training partner Laura Muir to glory.
