Beith manager Bryan Young slammed the referee for sending off Paul Frize, during the Cabes 3-2 win over Cumbernauld United at the weekend.

The Mighty were looking to get back to winning ways against United after a shock 6-0 loss against Gartcairn a fortnight ago, which dumped Beith out of the Scottish Junior Cup.

They started off brightly at Bellsdale Park going two up in the first half through goals from Nicky Docherty and Calum Watt.

The away side then grabbed a goal back before Watt restored Beith’s two goal advantage before the break.

United then scored another goal after the break before the Cabes were reduced to 10 men when Frize was shown a second yellow.

Speaking to the Herald, Young said:”I have had a player sent off and I still do not know why.

“I was on the park at the time and I cannot understand what was so bad that was said.

“There was nothing, even out of context, said that warranted a second booking never mind a sending off.

“Frize has been clearly stamped on whilst on the ground and he is the one that has been sent off, I cannot get my head around it.”
