Ardrossan Winton Rovers manager Stevie Wilson says he is looking forward to playing again after a raft of cancellations in recent weeks.

Rovers have not played a competitive match since the start of November as postponements due to the winter weather or other issues have seen a number of their games called off.

They were due to be playing Lanark United away at the weekend but high winds destroyed the stands and buildings at Moor Park.

Speaking to the Herald, Wilson said: “Lanark was obviously off at the weekend due to major damage at their park, so not great for them to be honest and a bit of a shame.

“We have only played something like two competitive games in the last four or five weeks, so it has been difficult.

“It has given us a chance for injuries to clear up a bit, as the injury list was horrendous at one point.

“We have also signed two new players from Benburb a fortnight ago, in Aiden Ferris who is a forward and Rhys Devlin who is a midfielder that played for Arthurlie and Irvine Meadow.

“We had a friendly last Monday night against Dalry Thistle at Winton Park, so they played then but they are yet to make their competitive debut.”
