Ardrossan Winton Rovers manager Stevie Wilson has left the club by mutual consent.

Rovers announced the departure on Monday evening after their 5-0 loss to Arthurlie at the weekend in the West of Scotland Football League Cup.

Speaking to the Herald, Wilson said: “The club has been at a situation where it just has not quite worked this season.

“We have had loads of injuries.

“I spoke to the chairman, Pat Breen – we had a great conversation and we just felt the best decision for the club might be for it to push on.

“It is just a case of seeing if someone else could come in and give the club a hand and try help it going forward.

“So, I will be taking a break and then get back into the game looking for another job again. I am not done.”

“I want to put on record how good the club have been and thank the players, who were putting their bodies on the line for the club.”

A spokesperson for Ardrossan Winton Rovers said: “Winton Rovers would like to thank Stevie and his staff for their efforts and dedication to their roles over the past three years with the club.”

The club have asked any interested parties in the managerial position at Winton Park to send their CV to wintonrovers@hotmail.com.
