Ardeer Thistle manager Sean Kenney says ‘anything can happen’ after they progressed to the second round of the West of Scotland Football League (WoSFL) Cup at the weekend.

Thistle were drawn a tough test in the preliminary round of the competition against Premier Divison outfit Troon.

However, Ardeer picked up a famous 4-3 win at Portland Park to upset the odds and progress into the First Round.

They were drawn up against Lugar Boswell Thistle in another tricky away test at Rosebank Park.

But Thistle blew the Conference A side out of the water with a massive 7-0 win.

Goals from Michael Howie, Marc Wardrope and Jack McWilliam alongside doubles for Jake Sillars and Robert Frew saw Ardeer progress.

Speaking to the Herald, Kenney said: “We have had two good wins in the WoSFL cup and two performances that have really pleased me.

“The draw for the next round has not been made yet but if we can keep playing like we have then you never know.

“Two of our best performances this season have came in this competition so if we can keep that going then who knows, anything can happen.”
