Ardeer Thistle manager Sean Kenney says he has his eyes set on promotion glory after his sides 4-0 win over Royal Albert at the weekend.

Thistle went into the West of Scotland Football League Conference B match knowing a win could seal their promotion hopes if results elsewhere went their way on the day.

Ardeer made sure to do their job as goals from David Gray, Glenn Lewis, Ryan Wilson and Callum Wardrope gave them a convincing win at Ardeer Stadium.

Speaking to the Herald, Kenney said: “We needed Port Glasgow to drop points at the weekend and we would have won promotion at the weekend but their game was postponed.

“But it just rolls onto next week now, they have two games left and the highest they can get is 41 points.

“We would take over that if we win this weekend against Gartcairn.

“But they are a good team and I think they have got better as the season has went on as well.

“They have recently added Tommy Coyne from Pollok to their squad as well who is a big name in Junior football.

“So it will be an exciting match up and we just need to play like we did against Royal Albert again.”
