Beith manager Bryan Young has challenged team to push up the league after beating Rossvale 5-0 at the weekend.

The Cabes went into the West of Scotland Football League Premier Division clash looking to get back to winning ways after their defeat to Auchinleck Talbot a fortnight ago.

They did so emphatically with goals from Jay McKay, Josh Fowler, Larry McMahon and a double from Kenny McLean giving the hosts a comprehensive victory at Bellsdale.

Speaking to the Herald, Young said:”It was a big win for us at the weekend to get points on the board again and to get to a healthy place in the league.

“We want to be progressing and pushing higher and higher up the table.

“So, it was a massive win to set up a big week for us.”

Next up for the Mighty is a trip to Recreation Park tonight to take on Darvel in league duty.

Then at the weekend they face an away trip to take on derby rivals Kilbirnie Ladeside, with Young looking forward to both tests.

He said:”Darvel’s game was off at the weekend so they will be more fresh but people might argue we have got a bit of momentum on them.

“But we are looking forward to to the occasion regardless.

“When you take the Kilbirnie game into account it is a derby, so it does not matter about form or anything like that and it is a big game for both clubs.”
