Dalry Thistle manager Chris Wilson applauded his side for a dominant performance as they beat Port Glasgow 6-0 at the weekend.

Thistle went into the Conference B clash seeking a victory having drawn their last two games against Royal Albert and Renfrew.

They got back to winning ways in style with goals from Andy Duncan, Aaron Robertson, Jack Easton and a hattrick from Jason Stewart giving the hosts a huge triumph at Merksworth Park.

Speaking to the Herald, Wilson said: “We were delighted and the main thing was of course to just win the game.

“But to win it, score the goals, keep a clean sheet and dominate the game was excellent.

“We played Port Glasgow earlier in the season and lost 5-1.

“So, if you look at that then the reversal on Saturday it shows what we are doing and the improvement.

“I am thrilled for the players, the backroom staff and more importantly the supporters and the committee.

“It has been a long hard season for us but when you get results like that it makes it all worthwhile.

“We have got four games left now and want to get as many points as we can.”
