ARDROSSAN Winton Rovers attacker Blair Docherty says he hopes his side’s win on Saturday sends out a statement to the rest of the league.
Winton overcame Larkhall Thistle 3-2 away from home - meaning they replaced the home side at the top of the table.
A double from Aidan Ferris, either side of a Christopher Craig strike made it seven unbeaten in the league for Winton.
Gavin Friels’ side went one ahead in the match, before the game was levelled from the penalty spot.
They then pushed 3-1 ahead though a late Larkhall goal made for a nervous finish, but Ardrossan held out.

At the top of the league for the first time this season, attack Docherty told the Herald how he wants to push on from here.
He said: “It was massive for us to get a result against a team who are at the top end of the table. I thought we controlled the game from the start and the defence were brilliant and never gave them a chance.
“It definitely puts out a statement to the rest of the league.
“If we continue ticking each game off and going in with the right attitude to all of them, we’ve got a really good chance of having a successful season.”
