Largs Thistle 5 Dalry Thistle 0
Largs put in another five star performance as they were too strong for Dalry in last night's battle of the Thistles at Barrfields Park.
The trialist keeper for Largs didn't have a save to make as the home side were rampant in the friendly encounter.
Manager Stuart Davidson said: "These games are important for getting ready for the new season and we are coming together and starting to play well.
"We have been getting there gradually but with just over two weeks before the season starts I am wanting to see strong performances.
"Given we have had clean sheets and we are scoring goals, it is good to see, but the most important thing is getting up to speed for the new season starting."
Sewell's calm finish after being set up by a trialist saw him take a touch before netting with a quality effort on 20 minutes, followed by an own goal on 49 minutes as Thistle pressure paid off.
A trialist bagged number three after controlling a dangerous cross and drilling it into the corner on 70 minutes.
The Barrfields men made it four on 80 minutes after another fast flowing move down the right with sub Sean McLeod providing the assist, and David McGrath sliding in to score.
And to round off the display, skipper Scott Adam showed his finishing touch by nutmegging the keeper after a good ball to the back post on 87 minutes.
Blair Devine and Cory Hughes also came off the bench to feature in the closing minutes as Largs ran out comfortable victors.
Davidson was pleased with the efforts of the players after winning the Johnstone Burgh tournament at the weekend - meaning that there is some early silverware in the trophy cabinet.
He said: "Having two games over the weekend was a tough shift but we acquitted ourselves well and we had a decent squad so everyone got a good run out and it was all about getting minutes in the legs.
"In the first half against Johnstone Burgh we limited them from hurting us and managed to grab a goal through a Lewis Davidson free kick and as the game went on we grew in confidence - and managed to win 5-0, and show what we are all about.
"Some of the players were a bit leggy on the Sunday but we had a couple of trialists to look at to help freshen things up and we got the job done.
"It is all about getting fitness before the league starts in earnest and already there is a fight for positions as we all have an eye on the new season starting, and we hope to tie up a couple more signings by the weekend."
