Ayrshire's Magnum Figure Skating Club now has TWO British champions after amazing success in Sheffield this week.
Cousins Lewis Macdonald and Isla Forsyth both triumphed at the British Novice Figure Skating Championships.
Lewis’ phenomenal skate secured him the top spot in the Intermediate Novice Boys category and Isla's flawless performance saw her become Basic Novice Girls Champion.
And it was very much a family affair as they were coached by Lewis's mum Suzanne Otterson, a former Olympic skater, and his aunt Gillian.
Two other skaters from the club, based at Auchenharvie Ice Rink, also did themselves proud at the championships. Lily McKergow and Lottie Bennett both made the finals after making it through several qualifying events.
After the devastating closure of Ayr Ice rink last year, the future for the former Kyle Skaters was uncertain.
However the two clubs came together and have gone from strength to strength, producing some of the finest talent in the country.
More than a decade ago, the skating club was forced to relocate to Auchenharvie after the closure of their former home, Irvine's Magnum Leisure Centre.
The club's depute chair Lorna Snodgrass said: "What a fantastic couple of days it’s been for Magnum Figure Skating Club at this years British Novice Figure Skating Championships taking place in Sheffield Arena.
"Lewis Macdonald, Isla Forsyth Lily McKergow and Lottie Bennett, coached by Suzanne and Gillian Otterson, took to the ice and did themselves and club proud!
"Great skating from the fab four saw them all achieve outstanding results in the tough competition.
"Cousins Lewis and Isla both skated their way to victory and were crowned British Champions.
"Lewis and Isla, coached by mum and aunt Suzanne and Gillian, have now shared this outstanding achievement with both of the young champions as former British primary and junior champions themselves.
"Lewis’s mum Suzanne also competed in the 1992 Olympic Games in Albertville France."
She added: "We appreciate all the support from the club's excellent coaching team, members, volunteers and skaters for making this all possible."
