Ardrossan’s Billy Gilmour could be one of the main talking points on transfer deadline day.
The 19-year-old enjoyed a breakthrough season last year under then Blues boss Frank Lampard but since Thomas Tuchel took over last week Gilmour has been omitted from the club’s match-day squads against Wolves and Burnley.
The former Rangers youth player has hopes of breaking into Scotland’s Euro 2020 squad this summer but may need to secure more regular playing time to achieve that ambition.

Reports last night suggested that Southampton were interested in a loan move for the rising star with other Premier League clubs such as Crystal Palace, Newcastle, West Brom and West Ham also showing interest in the Scot.
However, it has now emerged that Gilmour will stay at Chelsea and will get chances and game time under new boss Tuchel.
I'm told Billy Gilmour will NOT go out on loan today. Chelsea want him involved in the first-year squad #cfc

Speaking at his first press conference last week the Blues boss said: “Of Billy I have a good impression.
“He is a very strategic guy, with a very high level of game understanding, very good in the first contact, very clever in positioning.
"We will see if he has the physical level to compete in the centre of the field in the most physical league in the world, but he is super quick with his feet, super fast with his decision making, and very good in positioning like I said."
🗣 "I don't know for the life of me why Chelsea would let him go out on loan, for me personally he should be amongst it in that Chelsea first team."@morrisonclinton wants to see Billy Gilmour leave on loan as he deserves the playing time #DeadlineDay pic.twitter.com/VCkLwBArf0
