A BARRMILL man has admitted sexually assaulting a woman earlier this year.

Paul Carroll pleaded guilty to an amended charge at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court last week.

The 38-year-old targeted the victim on June 2 at streets between Kirk Street, New Street, Eglinton Street and Dickson Court in Beith.

Court papers stated the McHardy Crescent resident seized hold of the woman’s hip, placed his arm around her, pulled her towards him and kissed her on the face.

He also took out his private parts, urinated in front of the woman and asked her to hold his privates.

A not guilty plea to a second charge of behaving in a threatening or abusive manner - by following the same woman around the area making unwanted advances towards her - was accepted by prosecutors.

The case was adjourned until November 24 and Carroll’s bail was continued. In the meantime, he has been made subject to sex offender certification requirements.
