Another appeal has been made for information to help trace Jamie Cannon - the 19-year-old man from Saltcoats who has now been missing for a week.

Jamie was last seen seven days ago, on Thursday, May 20, on Kinnier Road around 10am, and has not been seen or heard from since, which is very out of character.

Extensive enquiries have already been carried out, and remain ongoing, to try and find Jamie. Specialist units, including dogs, have been deployed in the area, but no trace has been found.

Jamie is described as being 6ft 1ins tall, with short dark hair. When he was last seen he was wearing grey jogging bottoms, grey trainers, a blue jacket and was carrying a camouflage backpack.

Inspector Alison Wilson of Saltcoats police office said: “It has now been a week since Jamie was last seen and we, along with his family, remain extremely concerned for his welfare.

“I would like to thank members of the public and media who have assisted officers so far in our enquiries, but I would urge anyone who might have any information which might help us to find Jamie to get in touch.

"I would also urge anyone who may have been in the area when he went missing or anyone who was driving and recording via a dashcam device to check your footage and please come forward as soon as possible with anything of relevance."
